Shantelle Evans ( Queen Unique )

Shantelle Evans was born and raised in Baltimore City alongside her parents and two siblings. She received the majority of her education within the Baltimore public school system and later pursued higher education at Howard Community College.

In 2010, seeking a safer environment to raise her three children, Shantelle relocated to Charlotte, NC, to escape gun violence. Determined to embrace her new start with strength, courage, and wisdom, she embarked on a journey of personal and professional growth.

Shantelle achieved her dreams by obtaining a cosmetology license and earning a degree in psychology. Her passion for education, people, and the beauty industry led her to open her first salon. However, her journey was met with a devastating challenge when her teenage daughter became a victim of human trafficking. This life-altering experience compelled Shantelle to close her business and focus on recovering her daughter. Through constant prayer and a supportive network, she successfully rescued her daughter from the harrowing situation.

Turning trials into triumphs, Shantelle now serves as the Founder and CEO of Unique Blessings, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for survivors and victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Her mission emphasizes bringing awareness to these issues, particularly focusing on at-risk youth and young adults living at or below the poverty line globally.

Shantelle is a recognized community leader and advocate in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area, serving as a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Way Forward Grantee and participating in the Mecklenburg County Peace Keepers Initiative. In addition to her nonprofit work, she is a serial entrepreneur managing several other businesses aimed at promoting healing and wellness within the community.

As an author and visionary, Shantelle continues to inspire and uplift those in need, ensuring her lifetime commitment to creating meaningful change for marginalized communities.
